Bufo vertebralis is a species of toad in the Bufonidae family. It is found in South Africa and possibly Botswana. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, rivers, intermittent rivers, intermittent freshwater marshes, and pastureland. It is threatened by habitat loss.
